On 1 April, the Europe-Asia Center successfully participated in the 2025 CCID Forum, entitled "New-Type Industrialization: New Drivers, New Chapter."
Jonathan Schwestka, Director for Europe of the Europe-Asia Center, served on the panel "Global Solidarity and Win-Win Cooperation to Seize Opportunities for the New Industrial Revolution," alongside Liu Daizong, East Asia Director of the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP); Caroline Cheong, CEO of the KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific; Yu Jia, Director for International Development Cooperation at Peking University; Lu Hai, Director for Public Affairs at MEXCHAM; and Min Chun, CFO of Skytower Investments; under the moderation of Hou Xue, Deputy Director of CCID.

In his address, Mr. Schwestka underscored the fundamental principle of non-interference as a cornerstone for sustainable and equitable development, particularly in the Global South. He advocated for forward-looking partnerships built on mutual respect, sovereign equality, and genuine win-win cooperation, and highlighted the detrimental effects of external interference - whether through economic sanctions, military interventions, or political coercion -, with the enduring struggles of countries in Latin America as a case in point. In closing, Mr. Schwestka called for a renewed commitment to the principles enshrined in the UN Charter and emphasized the international community's responsibility to respect each nation's right to determine its own development path, free from external imposition.
Beyond this panel, the Forum also saw high-level dialogues on the issues of the low-altitude economy, commercial space, artificial intelligence, the 15th five-year plan for industrial development, and innovation-driven development.

Special guests included Su Bo, former Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology; Wang Jiangping, Member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC); Stephan Bainous Kargbo, UNIDO Representative in China; and Shi Dan, Member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, among others.
